Meet Ginger

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor in Washington state. I provide counseling for children (ages 3 and up), teens, adults, couples, and families. I have over 15 years of experience serving diverse communities in SW Washington, supporting individuals facing a wide range of life challenges, with a particular emphasis on healing from trauma related to early experiences, domestic violence, and the emotional impact of caregiving or high-stress professions.

In my practice, I offer a safe, calm, and compassionate environment where clients can explore their stories, find their voice, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others. My work is deeply client-centered, guided by each person’s own pace and needs in their healing journey. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as:

  • EMDR

  • DBT

  • IFS

  • Solution Focused

  • Trauma-Informed CBT

  • Art therapy as a creative and empowering tool for expression and growth

Meet Jamie

My name is Jamie (she/her). I am completing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University, a social-justice-focused program. I am a counseling intern working under the direct supervision of Virginia (Ginger) Hemming, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor in Washington. I utilize a trauma-informed approach.

I believe in each person’s ability to change their story and can help you explore your relationship with yourself and others. I utilize a grounded, relational approach to counseling, rooted in deep empathy, presence, and curiosity. My style is calm, affirming, and direct. I am skilled at reading the room, offering encouragement and care, but won't shy away from gently challenging you when it serves your growth. I recognize the systemic barriers and challenges that make life more difficult, and approach therapy as a collaborative process. My work draws from:

  • Attachment Theory

  • Self-Compassion Practices

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness, creative, and somatic approaches.

Having the courage to open up to someone in this capacity is brave. I value your trust and am grateful to learn alongside you.
